Hello everyone! As you know if you follow this blog, June was a very important month for me because of the modeling contest organized by D.Y.D.H. Productions (that also host MEWS) that was looking for 10 models for the very first LGBT runway show of the Festival Mode et Design de Montréal, the biggest festival of its kind in North America. Well...I'M ONE OF THE TEN MODELS!!! I'm delighted and extremely grateful to all the people who voted for me during the different stages of the contest and I'm offering you here a little timeline of the whole process!

Tout commence par un concours en ligne où plus de 100 personnes ont envoyé leurs photos dans l'espoir de faire partie des 20 mannequins qui participeront à l'évènement final. Ceux qui récolteraient le plus de «j'aime» de la part des internautes se verraient offrir cette chance. J'ai bien failli ne pas faire le top 20, mais à force d'harceler mes amis et de faire de la publicité sur mes différents profils internet, j'ai réussi!
Everything begins with an online contest where more than 100 people sent their pictures in the hope of being one of the 20 models participating to the final event. The ones that would get the more ''likes'' from the internauts would get this chance. I almost didn't make the top 20, but by harrassing my friends and doing advertising on my differents internet profiles, I made it!

Les 20 mannequins étaient ensuite conviés à une séance de coaching le 17 juin où ils eurent la surprise de voir que 5 mannequins de plus étaient dans la compétition (personnellement, je m'y attendais!) et 3 mannequins professionnels nous ont offerts leurs conseils sur notre démarche et notre attitude et les organisateurs nous ont donnés plus d'informations sur l'évènement. Nous avions le mandat de nous habiller nous-mêmes de la tête aux pieds pour la finale, selon deux styles complètement opposés: «Low-Trash» et «High-Glam», laissés à notre propre interprétation. The 20 models were then invited to a coaching session on June 17 where they got the surprise to see that 5 more models were into the competition (personally, I was expecting it!) and 3 professional models were offering us advice on our walk and our attitude and organizers gave us more information about the event. We were instructed to dress ourselves from head to toes for the finale, according to two completely opposed styles: ''Low-Trash'' and ''High-Glam'', let to our own interpretation. Le 28 juin, le grand jour est arrivé. Deux jours plus tôt, je suis allé magasiné pour mes styles avec mon ami et compagnon de défilé Dominique et mon copain Alexandre mais je suis quand même super stressé et peu confiant: il faut dire que la compétition est féroce! Tout le monde est superbe et plusieurs personnes ont déjà beaucoup d'expérience! Bref, je ne suis pas dans le meilleur état d'esprit mais je compte quand même m'amuser peu importe le résultat final. J'ai invité quelques amis pour venir me supporter à la grande finale au BLVD44.
On June 28, the big day is here. Two days earlier, I went to shop for my style with my friend and fellow model Dominique and my boyfriend Alexandre but I'm still super nervous and not very confident: the competition is ferocious! Everybody is stunning and several people already have a lot of experience! In brief, I'm not in the best state of mind but I still count to have fun no matter what is the final outcome. I invited a few friends to support me at the big finale at BLVD44.

Après beaucoup d'agitation en coulisses (imaginez, avec une seule maquilleuse...), les mannequins sont invités à se présenter en groupe de 4 sur scène et défiler un à un, donnant leur maximum avant d'être jugé par une série d'invités issus de la communauté de la mode montréalaise et LGBT. Le tout deux fois, dans une ambiance survoltée et plusieurs performances explosives. Suit un numéro de danse par AfroKuntz et on nous invite à danser sur scène avant d'annoncer les gagnants, choisis par le public. À ce moment-là, je ne m'attendais vraiment pas à être choisi, chaque personne appelée figurant parmi les meilleurs de la soirée. Mais à ma grande surprise, on nomma mon nom! Non seulement j'étais un des trois seuls garçons à être sélectionnés, mais j'étais également le plus jeune de tous! Bref, je suis extrêmement content et je n'en reviens toujours pas que plusieurs personnes (autres que mes amis, d'après le résultat!) aient voté pour moi! Félicitations aux 9 autres gagnants et également à ceux qui n'ont pas été pris mais qui ont fait un merveilleux travail! Voici quelques photos de la soirée!
After a lot of agitation backstage (imagine, with only one make-up artist...), the models are invited to come on the stage in groups of 4 and walk one by one, giving their maximum before being judged by a panel of guests from the Montreal fashion and LGBT communities. All that twice, in a boosted atmosphere and many explosive performances. Following is a dance gig by AfroKuntz and we were invited one last time on stage to announce the winners, chosen by the crowd. At this part, I didn't really expect to be chosen, because each person that was called was among the best of the night. But to my surprise, they called my name! Not only was I one of the only three boys selected, but I was also the youngest of the ten! In short, I'm extremely happy and I still can't believe that many people (other than my friends, according to the result!) voted for me! Congratulations to the other 9 winners and also to all the ones who didn't make it but did an amazing job! Here are some of the pictures of the night!
